France and Poland contest the EuroHockey5s Final

8th July 2017: It was semi-final day in Walcz yesterday with France, Austria, Poland and Switzerland played for a place in the EuroHockey5s final and a chance to get to YOG in Buenos Aires in 2018. 

The first game of the day was played by Wales and Lithuania, before the rain started! It was good game by Lithuania but wales played much better, the final score was 7:1 for Islanders

Second game between Geogria and Finland was very exiting. An even match and they were scoring goal for goal but the final score was 3:2 to Georgia. 

The 3rd game and Belarus and Denmark had to deal with rain, but it it wasn’t too much of a problem for Denmark, they won 6:3. 

In the 4th game, the last game for both Ukraine and Turkey, so they fought till the end!  The game ended in a draw with Turkey winning 2:0 in the shoot out. They took 5th place in the event. 

The 5th game Croatia v Wales, the game to decide the 9th place, Wales knew what they are going for, they took the win (6:4) and the 9th place.

In the 1st semifinal between France and Switzerland it was very exciting and to watch. Playing in grand final is a great prize for winning this match, so every player left his heart on the pitch. The result of this heroic battle was 4:2 for France.

In the second semi-final and the ‘fun’ is over, Poland, the hosts, with excellent partisan support had to deal with Austria. Both teams pushed hard, but Poland prevailed 4:2.
