#FridayFocus – 12th EHF Hockey Summer Camp in Albena with a Twinning twist

Posted On 28th July 2017

28th July – The 12th edition of the EHF Hockey Summer Camp is currently taking place in Albena, Bulgaria. This week-long camp (22 – 30 July) is this year being organised in conjunction with HC Athena, as part of their Twinning initiative with Bulgaria.

This year’s camp has more than 80 participants (including officials, players, coaches and instructors) from Bulgaria, Armenia and The Netherlands. Practice sessions were held on the 22nd, but the official opening ceremony of the camp took place on Sunday 23rd, with everyone present, including the 60 participating children.

After the opening ceremony, teams formed as follows:

Athena

Amsterdam

Rila

Pirin

Ararat

Young coaches

Coaches – it’s the team of the coaches

Juniors teams – kids under 10 years

Dragons

Elfs

Each team has both a trainer and an instructor (so both a Young Coach and a Coach!), so that the younger coaches can also have a learning experience by being paired with a more seasoned coach and assist them throughout the week.
