#FridayFocus- First Hockey steps in South East Serbia

 In this week’s #FridayFocus we travel to Serbia, where two hockey clubs from Bulgaria and one from Serbia took part in the first ever Hockey Tournament organised in Bosilegrad Pescara Stadium (southeast Serbia) on 2nd  September.

 

The teams partipating were HC Danube -Svishtov and HC NGS -Pernik (both Bulgaria) and HC Mladost -Bosilegrad of Serbia.

                                   

 

The Official Opening Ceremony was attended by the teams and included official guests Lubisha Nikolov (HC Mladost President), Chairman of Bosilegrad Sports Union, Vladica Manasiev and Bosilegrad Deputy Mayor, Stefan Stoikov.

 

After a welcome speech from the Bulgarian participants, Bosilegrad Mayor Vladimir Zahariev declared that this was “a historic day for sports in Bosilegrad and southeastern Serbia”  and officially opened the first tournament for the Cup of the City.

 

 

Tournament Results:

Danube – Mladost – 3: 0

NGS – Mladost – 6: 0

Danube – NGS -2: 0

 

 

 

At the end of the tournament  Antonio Antonov, EHF Development Coordinator for South East Europe, was delighted to present the awards to the participating teams, as well as a donation of hockey sticks to the hosts on behalf of the European Hockey Federation.
