The European Hockey Federation and Serbian Hockey Association invited representatives to participate at the South-East Europe Zonal Development Forum this November.
The forum was an outstanding success with representatives joining from Croatia, Turkey, Armenia, Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece, with prior input from Romania and FYROM. Each nation came prepared to share ideas on various topics and presented overviews of their current and future development ideas. The EHF and Member nations were also introduced to the outstanding new setup at the university campus in Jagodina led by Professor Živorad Marković. Professor Marković completed a EHF/FIH Level 1 Coaching course last year and has a plan to develop hockey across all of the university networks in Serbia. An agreement was reached over a Calendar of Events for the region including Indoor and Outdoor competitions as well as educational seminars for coach and umpire development for the period 2017-2019.
Ideas were shared between the EHF and federations present around hockey pitch infrastructure and the need for more visible information around the Give and Get programme which will be relaunched in 2018. Youth Hockey and Para Hockey were big discussion points and each Federation completed a full development plan outlining their commitments moving forward over the next 12 months.
