In this week’s #FRIDAYFOCUS, EHF are delighted to announce that our mentors for UDP 12 will be Hamish Jamson & Louise Knipe
The launch will be in the Spring of 2018 for the next 3 years. Rob ten Cate will be UDP Lead.
UDP
The UDP targets talented young umpires within Europe and provides a programme of events running over a three year period.
The programme is planned by two mentors who provide personal tuition and guidance throughout the 3 years and organise seminars, events and practical weekends. Our UDP graduates have officiated at the very highest levels….
Laurine Delforge (BEL) – Olympic Final
Marcin Grochal (POL) – Olympic Semi Final
Sarah Wilson (SCO) – Olympic Bronze Match
The Umpire Pathway Practical Weekend
A practical weekend each year is run at Breda in The Netherlands. This is vital for those who will wish to apply to UDP, as it will serve as the key element of selection for the UDP programme. U4E members will umpire a number of games in the prestigious Push Hockey Trophy, which attracts some of the best Under 18 and Under 16 teams from Belgium and The Netherlands.
The weekend will also include presentations from respected umpires and UMs, one-to-one coaching with mentors, and each umpire will also receive a personal video of their umpiring, with coach commentary. In addition to the U4E mentors, the UDP lead and a representative of the EHF Appointments Committee will be in attendance to participate in the UDP selection process.
