Day 1 EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy, Minsk

17th February 2018: A busy day in Minsk as the hosts hold the top position overnight in Pool B. Pool A is very open with Slagelse and KS Pomorzanin working towards semi-final places in Pool A. 


Pool A
Match 1: KS Pomorzanin Torun 6 – 4 (3 – 2) Grove Menzieshill

Polish team went ahead from goals from Krystian MAKOWSKI and Rafal SZREJTER. Grove Menzieshill did not give up and  tried to turn the game over,  but Pomorzanin was more lucky and won the game by a margin of 2 goals.

Match two: Slagelse HC (DEN)  5 – 0 (2 – 0) HC Bra (ITA)
Bra didn’t open the score on this game. It the first half two goals were scored by Stephan Hald TRZEPACZ and Mathias Due TANKMAR. The Danes increased their advantage in the second half by good field goals and won 5-0.

Pool B
Match three: Partille SC (SWE) 7 – 6 (3 – 2) Hockey Klub Zelina (CRO)

Zelina can’t equalize the score – in the end of match Partille lead 7:4, Zelina did try their best and broigh the scoreline to 6-7, just not enough!

Match four: HC Minsk (BLR)  10 – 3 (4 – 1) Lille MHC (FRA)

François-Xavier LAFFINEUR scored the first goal of match but in the 13th minute a double from Ivan Lutsevich and brilliant goal of Aliaksandr Hancharou gave Minsk the advantage. In the second half Ivan scored 3 goals and helped his team to get 5 points.

Pool A
Match five: Grove Menzieshill (SCO)  2 – 1 (1 – 0) HC Bra (ITA)

Bra need to win this game to get into group D but Ross MCPHERSON and Gavin BYERS of  Grove Menzieshill opened the score via two field goals. The Italian club worked hard and in the second half Nicholas CHIESA scored via a  penalty corner but only one goal they were able to win the match.

Match six: Slagelse HC (DEN)  7 – 7 (3 – 4) KS Pomorzanin Torun (POL)
The Match between Slagelse and Pomrzanin was a real battle for points. The first period ended with the Poles ahead. But in the second half Lasse Steinmetz CHRISTENSEN scored 3 goals for his team. A draw in the end saw the teams share the points.

Pool B
Match seven: Hockey Klub Zelina (CRO)  6 – 7 (4 – 2) Lille MHC (FRA)

Zelina start match by 4 goals but the Lille was not going to give points. Thomas BECUWE help his team to get advantage on this match and score 4 goals at the second half. At last minute score was 6:6 and Lille got the opportunity to win this game –  François-Xavier LAFFINEUR scored via a penalty corner.

Match eight: HC Minsk (BLR)    5 – 3 (3 – 1) Partille SC (SWE)
HC Minsk match started with a goal scored from Partille. But Ivan Lutsevich helped his  team again and the first half ended with Minsk leading  3:1. In the next 20th minutes Minsk scored two goals and got the  opportunity to play in group D despite the result in match against Zelina.
