2019 EuroHockey Championship venues and dates announced!

28th March 2018: The 2019 EuroHockey Championships (Men and Women) will take place in Antwerp (already announced), Cambrai, Gibraltar and Helsinki (men) and Antwerp (already announced), Glasgow and Lipovci (women).

Championship II, Cambrai: Speaking on behalf of French Hockey, Charlotte CALICHIAMA-BOUDIEUX, Communications Manager said: It’s a great pleasure for the French Hockey Federation to host the 2019 Men EuroHockey Championship II in Cambrai. It’s a big challenge for our Association to promote our sport, all around our country in the next six years in order to build the success of the Olympic Games in 2024. All the events in France are very important for our new partners and we are very happy to have the support of the European Hockey Federation. You can be sure that we shall work very closely to the Cambrai Hockey Club to get the best organization for this important event. See you in “Hauts de France” in 2019!”

Championship III, Gibraltar: Carl Rammage, Gibraltar Hockey told us that Gibraltar is delighted to bring the Eurohockey Championships 3 to our home turf. It has been many years since we last hosted an international event and we are all looking forward to hosting what will no doubt be an amazing event!”

Championship IV, Helsinki: Finnish Hockey added “Finnish Hockey Association is happy to be the host of the 2019 EuroHockey Championships IV because we take it as the honour of our efforts to achieve higher level of hockey and opportunity to spread the joyfulness of the hockey.” 

The women’s hosts were equally thrilled on hearing the news:

Championship II, Glasgow: Scottish Hockey CEO David Sweetman said, “I’m delighted that Scottish Hockey will again host another top international tournament in Glasgow. We set out to make Scotland a home for hockey and it’s fantastic that we have attracted such high-profile hockey tournaments to Scotland. Next year will be another incredibly exciting year for hockey in Scotland; first we host Pakistan’s men’s home Pro League matches, then two months later Scotland women will compete in Glasgow at EuroHockey Championship II in what will be another exciting tournament in front of a home crowd.” 

Match schedules will be announced later this year.
