6th April 2017: As the sports world plays its part in recognising the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, IDSDP2018, the EHF Executive Board stands with our International Federation in highlighting the role of Sport in Development and Peace.

Clubs of the Year:

It is no coincidence that the EHF has today, 6th April, IDSP2018 Day, announced our Clubs of the Year.

As our President, Marijke Fleuren has said “It is fantastic to see and read about the remarkable hockey clubs we have in Europe. The innovative initiatives from clubs, both big and small, are outstanding. Reading the applications, you could sense the enthusiasm, inspiration and sense of a strong community bond. I would like to congratulate both Atlètic Terrassa and ETB SW Essen for their awards. Well done!”

We, in the EHF, believe that through sport and especially in our hockey clubs, we build strong local communities. Through local hockey communities that are inclusive we develop tolerance and respect; all members in clubs are equal, regardless of gender, race, age, orientation and ability.

Tolerance and respect are the cornerstones of peace and understanding. We are very happy as an organisation to stand proud and acknowledge this important United Nations Day, #IDSDP2018.
