2018 EuroHockey Club Festival

Posted On 24th April 2018

24th April 2018: During the weekend of 16th – 21st May the EHF will deliver the 2018 EuroHockey Club Festival. A weekend that will span over 5 days, including 10 venues in 9 European countries. There will be a total of 80 clubs (men and women), 118 games and going by last year over 1,000 goals! In addition, for the second year we are running an U14 EuroHockey Club Cup for girls in conjunction with the EHCC in Surbiton, London.

Hockey Clubs are at the core of European Hockey. The clubs provide the future internationals in all our countries and the clubs provide the infrastructure for hockey to continue to grow in Europe. So this annual weekend is the complete focus of our attention over the next month as we try to help and support our host clubs to prepare to showcase European hockey. Our staff are busy engaging with the hosts to ensure that they deliver the events in the best and fairest way for all those teams who take to the roads, trains and planes to get to what is the pinnacle of their hockey year!

One of the most important aspects of the weekend will those who gain promotion to the next divisions and also those who end up being relegated. We know that these days can be joyful and painful all at the same time and we endeavour to make sure that at least things are fair. That is why over 150 volunteer officials and umpires will be on hand to deliver these events in accordance with the regulations and rules of hockey, to keep our game clean. We know that our players and team management will be mindful of being fair in their dealings with our volunteers and that the sometimes tough decisions are respected.

Let’s have a look around Europe to see where we are off to!
