The Coaches 4 Europe (C4E) programme has been a successful pioneering initiative which has been running in Europe for three years. C4E is a 2-year coach development programme which forms part of a three-tier pathway for Coach Development in Europe. The programme is planned by the EHF Coaching group who organise workshops and webinars for the C4E group.
Seminar one was held at Victory Hockey Club in Belgium with the appointment of four EHF Mentors Norbert Nederlof, Tomislav Jamicic, Grahame Mansell-Grace & Bernardo Fernandes. 16 coaches from 11 National Associations are in the class of 2018. The C4E course is designed to encourage the coach to think about the philosophy of coaching and managing teams.
Bojana from Serbia enthused, “Before this seminar I knew a lot about hockey, but this is now a totally new experience for me and I see now how much more new things I can learn. First of all I am delighted with the mentors, their professionalism and dedication. I received new information every day and I was very happy about that. Mentors had the answer to every question. A wonderful experience and such a great time, new friends, new knowledge and i can’t wait for a new seminar in Breda, see you!”
David from Irleand wrote “At the time of writing, I am mid-air between Brussels and Dublin, returning from an extremely educational and challenging first C4E seminar at Royal Victory Hockey Club. Over the course of the four days the main focus was on the coaching of individual skills to players…As coaches, we had opportunities to research, present and debate the proper techniques for many skills as well as various approaches to coaching them and undertaking on-pitch sessions with players from Royal Victory HC…Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating few days with many new connections made with coaches from all over Europe. A huge thank you to Leen, Tomislav, Panda, Bernardo and Norbert. Looking forward to Breda in August already!”
