14th May 2018: More ambassadors to meet, this time the ladies of Club de Campo; Bea Figar and Ampi Gil who are ready to take on hosts Surbiton HC at 19.00 on Day 1 (17th May)
We asked them what it means for them to play for Club de Campo in the EHCC; “It’s always a challenge to play against the best teams in Europe, we are really looking forward to take part in this competition and we are really proud to be here as we consider it a reward for all years’ hard work.”
What would they say to young female players aspiring to get to this level? “ All the hard work and effort pays off when you are able to compete at this level.”
Ampi is an confirmed cat person, even though she is in fact allergic to her cat, Kiwi
Bea, definitely a dog person “I’ve always had dogs”
A favourite song of the team is Power by Kayne West “We always listen to it before we enter the pitch”
Both Bea and Ampi agreed that streaming is a essential “It’s incredibly important for the future of hockey, it’s a way of getting people hooked. We think it’s also important to give women’s sport the same recognition and we are thankful for the effort the EHF has put in it.”
If they won the €5,000 “We would like to spend it on a team building or pre season trip and perhaps some partying!!”
