Yesterday was the second day of the EuroHockey U18 Championship Girls. The teams from pool B had a rest day while teams from pool A were on duty.
The first match of the day was between Wales and Lithuania. After a tough loss the day before against Russia, Lithuania had a great opportunity to react in their second pool game. Both teams played an open game in the first half with chances on both sides. But the score remains 0:0 for a long time. The match was very aggressive and physical in the duels, which resulted in four green cards and two yellow. Wales put a high pressure at the end of the game and scored the winning goal with 6 minutes left on the clock.
Scotland and Russia played the second game of the day later in the afternoon. The game was very much balanced with Scotland playing some great attacking hockey. Emily Dark scored an early goal in favour of the Scottish team. She scored an additional goal in the 45th minute to secure a comfortable advantage for her team. Scotland added a third goal in the 50th minutes via Lexi Sabatelli. Russia came back in the game with 1 minutes left but it was too late to get the equalizer. The final score was 3-1 in favour of Scotland.
Pool A:
Scotland 6 point
Russian 3 point
Wales 3 point
Lithuania 0 point
