EHL stage set for perfect friends and family weekend

Posted On 28th September 2018

ROUND1, Barcelona, October 5-7, 2018: The final countdown is on for EHL ROUND1 as 12 of the finest clubs from 12 different countries around Europe prepare to do battle in four groups of three with a ticket to the KO16 on the line at the Pau Negre Stadium, Barcelona.

The beautiful city provides the perfect backdrop for a weekend of top quality hockey in the old Olympic quarter.

There are plenty of new faces and returning friends with Spanish side Junior FC looking to delight their local fans on the biggest club stage a year after their 100th birthday. They are in what looks to be a cracking group with Irish champions Three Rock Rovers and Racing Club de France in Pool D.

Belarus’s HC Minsk will play in their first EHL since the club’s formation just 10 years ago. They line up in Pool C against the most experienced side in the EHL, WKS Grunwald Poznan, who are playing in their 12th successive EHL season.

In Pool A, we have former champions HC Oranje-Rood – winning it as Oranje-Zwart in 2015 – in the mix and they will be the side to beat against Scotland’s Grange and Austria’s SV Arminen.

Pool B, meanwhile, has a potential firecracker in the re-match between Wimbledon and Mannheimer HC with Russian side Dinamo Elektrostal always dangerous.

All 12 games over the weekend will be played at the historic Pau Negre Stadium. Tickets are available on while all games will be streamed on
