EHF signs an Official Stick partnership with Mercian Sports Company

Posted On 21st November 2018

The EHF announces that it has signed an official stick partnership with Mercian.

The one-year agreement, starting on 1st January 2019, will ensure that the EHF and our Member Associations have access to good value quality hockey equipment.

In addition to providing the EHF with free sticks to be used for targeted projects,  Mercian Sports has made a number of development sticks in the REBEL range available to EHF Member Associations at exceptional prices.

Peter Elders, Chair of the EHF Development Projects Committee said “The most basic requirement for playing hockey is to have a hockey stick. Mercian Sports is a well-respected hockey brand that we are pleased to partner with. This partnership not only allows the EHF to target specific countries in need of sticks to grow their membership but makes exceptionally good value quality Mercian sticks available to all our Members. This will enable schools, clubs and Associations to purchase sticks and other equipment to alleviate the need for beginner and developing players to have to buy their own equipment before they start hockey!”

Mercian’s CEO, Simon Mason added “Mercian Hockey is delighted to become the Official stick supplier to the EHF. It will enable the company to support some of the fantastic initiatives that are taking place across Europe to help with the development of our sport, increasing its reach and impact across all 43 member associations.  We (Mercian) feel that by offering high-quality products into EHF programmes and directly to those members we can increase the positive impact of our sport and expose more players to the dynamic nature of it. With over 40 years’ involvement and experience at domestic and international level hockey, Mercian is well placed to understand and support the needs of the EHF and its members and we look forward to working with them.”
