#FridayFocus – EHF Technical Officer course in Vienna

Posted On 22nd February 2019

Our #FridayFocus today is an update on the new direction of our Technical courses as we take them out of the classroom and to our events. From 15th – 16th February 10 EHF officials gathered in Vienna for a 2-day Technical Official (TO) course.

The theme of the course was  “Be prepared for the unexpected, and how to prepare for that”.

After an introductory session and dinner on Friday evening, the course kicked off on Saturday morning with sessions on tournament preparation (finding your way around regulations and tasks to assist the Technical Delegate).

After visiting the venue to watch a match of the EuroHockey men’s indoor club cup championship in the afternoon session focussed on communication and management during a match. The day ended with watching and analysing the performance of a TO during the EuroHockey men’s indoor clubs cup championship. Sunday’s sessions focused on assisting the Technical Delegate during the tournament (protests and hearings).
