#IWD2019 – Groundbreaking news from Bulgaria

Posted On 8th March 2019

What better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than to announce groundbreaking news from Bulgaria!

At its AGM on 6th March for the first time in the history of the Bulgarian Hockey Federation, a woman has been elected to the Executive Board. Emilia Vitanova, will be responsible for the youth and hockey development. #BalanceForBetter

As we gear up to announce a major project on gender balance in Europe, we are delighted with this news coming from Bulgaria and hope that many of our Federations will take this example of how a better balance creates a better world.

We wish Emilia and her colleagues; Joerg Schenk, President of the BHF, Antonio Antonov, BHF Executive Director; Boncho Zlatev, Vesselin Zahariev, Sevdalin Hashinov and  Galin Karagyozov the very best in their new roles and will be delighted to support the ongoing work of the Federation through our development and education programmes.
