It was exciting last weekend in Zagreb (Croatian Cup Final, with clubs from six countries at a children’s tournament and the award ceremony for EHF Club of the Year (small club) 2018), attended by Marijke Fleuren, President of the European Hockey Federation, also attended events in the Croatian capital.

Marijke presented the EHF Award – EHF Club of the Year (small club) to the Croatian Hockey Club Mladost between two exciting finals cups. This is indeed the second EHF award a Croatian Hockey Association after Zelina in 2014.

The EHF President, Marijke Fleuren stressed that

“Mladost truly deserves this award for the quality of its work in the younger categories, especially its co-operation with five primary schools close to the club and co-operation with the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb with special attention to increasing the number of women in hockey.”

“This award is one of the biggest and most valuable prizes in club history, and we are extremely proud of it. This is a proof that there are always people who recognize and value our efforts. We are proud of the great sporting results in our 70-year history. We are the most prominent club in the Republic of Croatia with 130 trophies of national championships and cups in all categories. This award is also an incentive to invest even more energy into the club and hockey development.” said Andrija Jazbec, president of HAHK Mladost

Marijke also gave special prizes to the two guests at the award ceremony, Mr. Krešimir Šamija, Deputy State Secretary for Sport and Milan Pavelić, the Head of the City of Zagreb Office for Sport and Youth.

On Sunday morning, the EHF President visited the children’s tournament, the 17th memorial Boris Farkaš, who organized HK Trešnjevka, which brought together 37 teams from six countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia). This tournament is increasing every year, and valuable volunteers from HK Trešnjevka believe that the next year’s tournament will be even bigger.
