#FridayFocus – Ugnė Chmeliauskaitė is elected as ENGSO Youth Chair

Posted On 12th July 2019

At the ENGSO General Assembly in June, our Youth Panel member Ugnė Chmeliauskaitė was elected as ENGSO Youth chair to lead the organization at least for the next two upcoming years. She also has a position in the Executive Committee room table of ENGSO (European Non-Governmental sports organizations)

Speaking about her appointment she said “It is exciting, challenging and inspiring at the same time. I highly appreciate the trust given to my shoulders and can’t be happier with the European team by my side. Interesting times ahead #engsoyouth ? p.s. being first ever elected women for the chair position in the history of the organization is also sounds pretty breathtaking!”
Speaking about her appointment Marijke Fleuren said “I am extremely proud of Ugne and the leadership she is showing both in hockey and in the wider spectrum of sports organisations. As we strive for Gender Balance in European hockey, Ugne is trailblazing being appointed as the first female chair of the ENGSO Youth organisation. We wish her well in this important appointment. She really is #equallyamazing. “
