Roundup – Day 4 EuroHockey Championship II, Men, Cambrai

It was the 4th day of competition in Cambrai and an important one to determine who would be heading for the semi-final line-up and who would be at risk of relegation.

A full day of games with all the teams on display and the mighty volunteer force was working overtime to ensure that the players had all they needed to just perform (wash ice bath, meal preparation, set up the technical table). Thanks to the volunteers, the organization is again a success.

Match 9: Austria v Italy (Pool A) 2-0

First up was Austria v Italy and the 2-0 win is enough to put Austria in the semi-final.

Match 10: Ukraine v Russia (Pool A) 3-5

A win for Russia was enough to put them into the semi-final along with Austria

Match 11: Czech Republic v Poland (Pool B) 0-0 

The Czech Republic held semi-final bound Poland to a 0-0 draw, meaning Poland finished 2nd in the Pool to earn a semi-final v top of Pool A, Russia. The Czech Republic will play in the relegation Pool C.

Match 12: France v Belarus (Pool B) 3-1 

France had an emphatic win over Belarus to ensure a top slot in the Pool and will face Austria in the semis.
