It wouldn’t be Friday if we didn’t bring you a #FridayFocus story and what better than celebrating the EHF Youth Leadership Festival. During four days, 44 young leaders from all over Europe have gathered to improve their leadership skills and knowledge about other hockey countries.
They have presented their very own projects, which were truly inspiring. Also, they’ve had the opportunity to hear from some of the world`s most respected people in hockey: Ugne Chmeliauskaité, Sofie Gierts, Stephan Haumann, Helen and Kate Richardson-Walsh, Scorrd, Selfpass; Laurine Delforge and Marcin Grochal.

Individual presentations were about how each one of them was involved in coaching, communication, umpiring and different areas of hockey. While developing their oral expression skills it was also the opportunity to share ideas and connect with other people. Though most importantly, the young leaders have shown and confirmed what an amazing passion we share: Hockey.
Guest speakers inspired the European Youth and gave them self-improvement and leadership tips. Kate Walsh: ”Everyone can be leaders and everybody needs to lead”, as for Helen Richardson said: “We all have the ability to lift people up and tell them what they are good at.”
Also, two of the most innovative companies related to hockey Scorrd and Self-Pass shared their entrepreneurship story and advice.

It is important to point out that these young leaders did not just come to Antwerp for the fun. They came to create chaos, which ignites a new fire and provides fuel to inject even more passion into the EHF.
These young leaders are here now and they have lots of ideas and creative solutions. Whether it being someone from a small or big hockey nation, they all inspired each other equally. And that is exactly what the Youth Leadership Festival is about:
