#FridayFocus – A Hockey New Year in Slovenia

Posted On 10th January 2020

We start our FridayFocus series with a great story of sharing knowledge between two of our Federations.

Croatian coach Tomislav Jamicic ran a fantastic indoor workshop over the Christmas holidays for Slovenian coaches.

An #equallyamazing (5 female and 5 male coaches attended) workshop, 5 of them were new coaches eager to learn.  As Tomislav said, “They were extremely motivated and enthusiastic and I was delighted that coaches from all Slovenian clubs attended.”

Day 1 started with a mixture of theory and practice under Tomislav’s lead, with sessions being adapted depending on the needs of the participants.

On day 2 they undertook five practical sessions with youth players.

Tomislav concluded “We had good interaction, fun and team building. The only downside was not enough time.”

Sanja Kropec, President of Slovenian Hockey said “I’d like to personally thank Tomislav for his wonderful work with our coaches. It was certainly a case of learning but having fun and team building at the same time. It was wonderful for Tomislav to give up his time to share his knowledge with our enthusiastic coaches and we hope to continue this sharing knowledge across our borders in 2020.”
