Posted On 13th July 2020

A huge congratulations to the Italian Hockey Federation and Marco Carboni (responsible for ParaHockey in Italy) on their new initiative to focus on athletes with Down Syndrome, and especially women athletes.

After establishing the work with the category T20 where the Italian Hockey Federation formed the Male Team. Italian Hockey has now formed the Female T20 Team and coaching is ongoing in this area.

The focus is now on establishing a mixed team of players with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.

Ther are planned 5 stages throughout Italy for the recruitment of athletes and last Thursday they made the first stage in Pescara a splendid city on the Italian east coast, which was highlighted by the local media.

A huge congratulations to Italian Hockey for this initiative to ensure that we continue to ensure that hockey really is for all! #parahockey #hockeyforall
