The Executive Board of the EHF met for the second time in 2014 on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th June.
With the exception of Leonardas Caikauskas, who was absent due to the World league 1 being hosted by Lithuania there was a full attendance of the Board over the two days (and evenings) with extensive and fruitful discussions and debates on the topics outlined below.
Reports were received from the following committees:
• Competitions Committee – Outdoor,
In recognising the challenges Nations face with establishing their funding capabilities the Board approved a recommendation to move the withdrawal deadline date from Oct 31st to January 15th.
Rankings following Women and Men’s Clubs tournaments in 2014 will be published this week.
It was agreed that the format of the EHCCC (8 teams and one venue) would remain the same as 2014.
The EuroHockey Youth (U18) Championships Boys & Girls date has been moved by two weeks to July 18th – 25th 2015
Typographical errors on the regulations have been updated and are on the website with changes visible. Full and final amendments will be completed in September.
TMS is being trialed at Club events, EHL and Nations Indoor with a view to being implemented for all events post the 2015 Indoor Season. The Executive Board was confident that using this system will be good for the sport and helpful to organisers.
• Competitions Committee Indoor
In recognising the challenges Nations face with establishing their funding capabilities the Board approved a recommendation to move the withdrawal deadline date from March 31st to June 30th.
Venues were approved for Indoor Nations Championships 2016
These will be announced in a separate bulletin in the coming days, along with venues for Indoor Club tournaments 2015.
• Euro Hockey League
A report was received with regard to the new format for the Euro Hockey League for season 2014-2015.
• Appointments Committee
The appointments committee noted concerns regarding the high level of late withdrawals which took place during the Indoor Season – in particular for Women’s tournaments.
It was also reported that the nomination window for Indoor 2015 officials and umpires is now closed.
• Development Projects Committee
A report was received on recent activities of the Development Projects Committee, Youth Panel and in particular the recent Mediterranean Forum which took place in Catania – further details are available on www.eurohockey.org
It was reported that applications had been submitted to Erasmus+.
• Finance Committee
A report was received following the annual meeting of the Finance Committee which took place on Thursday 26th June.
Following a recommendation from the Finance Committee, the Board approved their proposal that Entry fees and minimum license fees remain as per 2014
The Hon. Treasurer presented the accounts for 2013 and gave an update on the year to date figures.
• Education Committee
Reports were received from the Coaches, Umpires and Officials Working groups on the activates which are taking place around Europe. Further details and reports are available on www.eurohockey.org
• Communications Committee
The Communications Committee presented new EHF Branding Guidelines to the Executive Board.
FIH Executive Board
• A report was received from the President on the most recent discussions with the FIH Executive Board.
Director General Report
• The Director General presented updates on the EHF Strategic Plan and FIH MOU.
The Executive Board agreed a draft calendar for meeting dates in 2015
01 July 2014
